If you have property, stocks, bonds, certificates of deposit, or other
investment tools that have increased in value since you have purchased
them,
you may want to consider making a gift of these items instead of cash.
This is a great method for making a significant gift with little or no
effect on your current income. In many cases, you can deduct the full,
current value of the asset, not just what you paid for it.

you to develop a clear plan for your property gift, including an appraisal
and method for sale.

By remembering Flagstaff Medical Center in your estate plans, you help
insure the future of our quality care beyond your lifetime. Often, a
bequest allows you to contribute more than you would otherwise be able to
give, if you had to make the gift from your current income.
You may designate in your will a specific dollar amount, or a certain
percentage of your estate, to FMC. Here is the typical terminology:

86001, I give $________ (or _______% of my estate). This gift is
designated to _____________________ (program) or the area of greatest
need, as determined by the Board of Directors of Flagstaff Medical Center.

By making a bequest to Flagstaff Medical Center, you become a member of
the Founder’s Circle, our special group of generous donors who support the

Matching Gifts

Many companies will match their employee’s contributions to nonprofit
organizations. Please contact your human resources department at your
place of employment to see if it participates in a matching gift program.
Life Insurance

Your insurance agent or financial planner can advise you on life insurance
as a charitable gift, or contact the Foundation for more information at

Retirement Plans

Individual Retirement Account (IRA’s) and company-sponsored pension and
profit sharing plans, among other methods of saving for retirement, are
increasingly popular tools for contributions. By contributing the balance
of your plan to FMC, you may be able to produce tax savings for your
heirs.
Life Income Plans

There are many tools in this area of giving, including charitable
remainder trusts, charitable gift annuities, unitrusts, and others. In
these arrangements, you receive current income, a partial tax deduction,
and in most cases, protect a portion of your estate from inheritance tax.
FMC would receive the proceeds of your gift from your estate.

Any gift of any size can be made in honor or memory of someone. Remember a
loved one, recognize a doctor or caregiver at FMC, or celebrate a special
occasion with a gift designated to a specific program or fund, or to the

person being honored.
